As with all watersports, sailing is not without risks. Weather conditions can change suddenly and deteriorate quickly. There can be unique local hazards. Not knowing how to handle the boat or yourself in such circumstances can result in injury or death. That said, sailing can be self-taught, just be safety conscious. Beginners should start with smaller bodies of water, where you are always near shore and be able to seek the help of others. Wear a personal floatation device, dress appropriately especially for the temperature of the water. Build your confidence, but know your limits.

Orders are normally processed within 1-2 business days. In-stock boats, parts, and accessories are shipped via FedEx Ground or USPS from our Woodinville, WA warehouse and usually takes 3-10 days in transit. Special orders can take 3-5 weeks or more and may encounter customs processing delays. Will-call at our Woodinville, WA warehouse is available by appointment.

Through us, of course. Just contact us. As the boats are modular, each part can be replaced as needed to keep your boat in top condition. And because we carry inventory, we can express mail you a part to save your vacation. But because the design of the boat is simple, replacement/repair of most parts is possible in a pinch with off-the-shelf components from your local marine supplier. Note that rivets rather than screws are recommended for some parts.

OR: title is required of all vessels, and registration is required for sailboats over 12’ or if motorized - ORS 830.705(2). CA: title is required of all vessels, and registration is required for sailboats over 8’ or if motorized - CCP VEH.9873(e). Others: Here’s our Complete Guide on Sailboat Registration by State.

As checked baggage on most airlines as long as it doesn’t exceed the airline’s maximum oversize/overweight limits. Oversize fees would most likely apply to all boats as the largest components are 5’ to 6’ long. Overweight fees may also apply, but it may be possible to split the weight across multiple bags to stay within standard weight limits. It may qualify for a “sports equipment discount” on some airlines, but definition varies. Please check with your airline before booking your flight to avoid surprises at the airport.

VESSEL SALES TAX. Washington residents are subject to sales tax at place of sale (3.7% Kenmore, 6.5% WA). Unlike other internet-ordered products, destination based sales tax does not apply to vessels. However, since we chose to do business in Kenmore, we will pay the 3.7% Kenmore city sales tax on your behalf, but you will still be responsible for the 6.5% WA state sales tax. Out-of-state/foreign residents are WA sales tax EXEMPT, but may be subject to their state's use tax, especially if subject to title/registration requirements. CANADIAN residents are not subject to GST/HST as we are a US-based entity that does not meet the definition of “carrying on business in Canada”. In addition, European-made boats are not subject to Canadian import tariffs per CETA enacted September 2019. A MIC issued by the United States Coast Guard to a U.S. boat importer/manufacturer is recognized in Canada by reciprocal agreement. In Canada, pleasure craft with 10 HP motors or less are exempt from license and registration.
